The Sixth Annual Travel Turkey Izmir Fair and Conference is set to take place Dec. 6 to 9 at the Izmir International Fair Center in Izmir, Turkey. Organized by the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB), MESSE International Istanbul, and Izmir Fair Services, Culture and Art Affairs (IZFAS), the conference hosts some of the tourism industry’s leading exhibitors from all over the world ranging from travel agencies, airlines, hotels, car rental companies, and tourism associations and corporations to communication systems, language schools, tourist transportation companies, and restaurants and cafes.
Last year’s Travel Turkey Izmir Fair and Conference attracted 20,568 visitors and 638 exhibitors from 19 different countries. “As the Ministry, we support Travel Turkey Izmir, considering it to be an opportunity to reveal the diversity and opportunities offered by our country,” said Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Günay. Izmir’s MICE facilities are expected to expand in the next two years.
Construction for a new Convention Center at Kulturpark Izmir is scheduled for 2014. Expanding on the current location of the center, the new facility will be a contemporary venue to complement the city’s developments in the MICE sector. The Ephesus Convention Center in Kusadasi is projected to open in November. This first ever large-scale Convention Center on Turkey’s Aegean Coast will bring cutting edge technology to the region. Business professionals will appreciate its proximity to key international gateways including The Izmir Adnan Menderes International Airport, 45 minutes away, the Port of Kusadasi, 10 minutes away and Ataturk International Airport just 55 minutes by air from Istanbul.
