The Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Centre is one of the best auditoriums in not just İzmir but in Turkey in general. The concert hall that is the gem of the Centre with a capacity of 1153 people, has risen as a magnificent concert hall right from its planning phase till its actual construction. In addition to the İzmir State Symphony Orchestra, the concert hall has hosted such globally famous pianists as Fazıl Say, İdil Biret, Gülsin Onay and the Güher Süher Pekinel brothers along with internationally-known musicians like Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jazzing Flamenco within the scope of the İzmir European Jazz Festival as well as Kodo and the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra within the scope of the International İzmir Festival.
The area with an elevator located in front of the stage adds to the richness of the hall’s use with the many functions it contributes to the area. Moreover, disabled people were also taken into consideration and the centre has been designed in a way that both art-lovers and disabled musicians can access the place easily. Also in terms of its acoustic features, the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Auditorium can compete with other auditoriums in the world. In addition to the concert hall where a delicately-designed acoustic project was implemented, the Centre has large exhibition halls that hold various types of expositions.
