Ahmet Piristina City Archive and Museum was opened in 2004 and it was named after Izmir's former mayor Ahmet Piristina who had exerted remarkable efforts for the establishment of such a museum. Documents introducing Izmir are being exhibited in this museum.

The building is in Izmir, I. Kordon (Ataturk Boulevard) built in between 1875-1880 by a carpet merchant, Takfor, as a resident. It was nationalized after abandoned by its owner on 9 September 1922.

The Natural History Museum, embodied within the structure of the Natural History Research and Applications Centre, is the second largest Natural History Museum founded in Turkey after the Ankara Mining Investigations and Research Institute.

The İnciraltı Sea Museum is a naval museum in the İnciraltı neighborhood of Izmir's Balçova district in Turkey. The museum's main exhibits are two former Turkish Naval Vessels, the Frigate TCG Ege (F256) (the former USS Ainsworth (FF-1090)) and the Submarine TCG Piri Reis (S343) in additon to artifacts on display in the museum building itself.

This is the first commercial history museum in Turkey. The entrance is free to the museum established by Izmir Chamber of Commerce.

Built in the 18th century, the museum has a Neo-Classical structure. Allocated to those patients who caught plague in 1831, the building was later transferred to poor Christian families in 1845.

The first archaeology museum in Izmir was opened to visit in 1927 at Ayavukla (Gözlü) Church in the district of Tepecik. The second museum was founded in 1951 at the Culture Park.
